Got “Organic” Milk? Guess Again.

THE INHUMANE ASPECT OF CONVENTIONAL PRACTICES

The treatment in some of these factory farms is terribly inhumane.  Some of these large organic dairies are buying their cattle from these very suppliers.  Not only is this inhumane and disturbing, the product of these abused animals are being fed to our children in our schools. and we are even paying for it!

Here is a video that shows the abuse of these animals at a large conventional facility.  Warning! The content is somewhat graphic and definitely disturbing.

So, what is the difference anyway?

These large factory farm dairy/meat companies have released many articles and reports stating that their milk and beef is not any less nutritional than organic, however, tests show different.  This is purposely done to confuse the consumer and discredit findings that state otherwise.

It has been proven that real organic milk is higher in omega-3 fatty acids. Milk is truly a gift to humans in it’s natural form.  It’s gives us life once we are born and something that we cannot thrive without early on.

Organic grass-fed beef has been proven to be much healthier.  In natural grass-fed cows, the saturated fat content is much lower and the meat is leaner.  Additionally, it has been found in studies that vegetables, meat, milk, etc. that are grown and raised with GE products have been found to be contaminated with concerning amounts of unnatural toxins.

It is also notable to mention the importance of real organic fruits and vegetables.  It has also been proven that they are healthier and have more nutrients.  You will not see this posted in many places, but we found a legitimate study indicating the evidence.  Read here to get the real results of studies done on organic and non-organic vegetables.

We also have found a great place to find pasture-based farms in your area at Eat Wild.

“When our food and water are tainted, so will our bodies become”

Americans want to be aware of what is in our food, and upon investigation, certain questionable companies were not willing to disclose this information.

Wonder why?

Americans are becoming more health conscience about what they consume because of the effect it seems to be having on our population. However, the bottom line for these companies, is money.  We are talking about a huge mark up for a poor quality, tainted product yielding a much higher profit for this multi-billion-dollar industry, and we are the ones who are paying for it in more ways than one.

THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

A fairly recent lawsuit surfaced for two major organic dairy suppliers.  The complaint was that these companies practiced inorganic methods of production.  It is not unknown that conventional dairies have a negative impact on the environment.  There have been several lawsuits filed in regard to this issue.

However, smaller organic dairy farms are known to effectively manage their cows and land.  When cows are allowed to graze naturally, there is an absence of feedlot waste and its effect on the water supply.  The manure acts as a natural fertilizer to the land without being tainted with antibiotics and artificial hormones, and less is produced because the grass is digested properly by the cattle.

The large factory dairies on the other hand have large feedlots with literally tons of manure that is washed out into local lakes, creeks, etc.  The feed is not natural by any means, thus it becomes waste infected with artificial hormones and antibiotics that effect the environment dramatically.   Additionally, conventional cows produce over twice as much methane since the unnatural food is not digested properly, thus creating another type of negative impact to the environment.
