Being stressed and feeling like you can’t handle the situation you’ve found yourself in is a reality of life. You need to know how to combat stress.
Stress & Feeling Overwhelmed
Everyone feels stressed out about something at some point in time. You could have a rough day at work and are stressed out from dealing with all the problems that arose. You could be stressed out because there aren’t enough hours in the day to accomplish what you want to do. Sometimes you’re stressed out for no reason, but suddenly you feel overwhelmed by a variety of things in your life. Stress is normal and very common. There are ways to ease your stress, so it doesn’t take up so much of your time. The less time you spend stressing out over things, the more time you’ll have to enjoy life.
Breathe & Relax
Sometimes when you feel overwhelmed, you just need to pause and breathe. Reconnect and recenter your body and concentrate on nothing else but your breathing. Let your overwhelmed thoughts and stress take a back burner while you clear your mind. It’s easy for you to feel overwhelmed because life is lived at such a fast pace that people forget to stop a beat and just acknowledge that time is not wasted just because you’re resting.
Connect With Nature
Along the lines of pausing and resting, take a minute and go for a walk outside. If you have a dog, take it for a walk and enjoy the fresh air. Grab your favorite book and go to a nearby park or just put a towel down in your backyard and relax in the calm serenity. When you disconnect yourself from your stress and put your energy and focus into something else, you’re giving your mind a chance to switch gears and tune out the stress. Even if it’s just a five or 35-minute break, any amount of time spent outside is better than no time spent.
Exercise to Rid Yourself of Stress
Exercising is always a good idea. Not only does exercising release endorphins that will improve your mood, but it’s also so good for your overall health and wellness. You don’t have to have a gym membership to work out. Find a free workout on YouTube (there are tons available) and take 10 minutes to practice yoga or another workout. Your focus will be on completing that exercise and by the time you’re done, your mind will feel clearer and you’ll be refreshed to tackle your stress.

Take Supplements to Combat Stress
Anti-stress supplements are popping up on the shelves of supermarkets and pharmacies. Popular vitamin brands like Olly, Nature’sMade, and Natural Vitality sell anti-stress supplements that have ingredients like vitamin B, vitamin C, magnesium, and even zinc. If you’re looking for more natural supplements, be sure to check out your local organic stores like Trader Joe’s, Lucky’s, or similar.
Do Something You Enjoy
Maybe you’re not interested in some of the above suggestions. That’s perfectly okay because it’s all about finding what you enjoy, not what you think you should enjoy. Maybe you love to cook or watch up on your favorite TV show. Whatever activity it is you enjoy, say bye to stress for a little while and unwind. Maybe a relaxing bath with your favorite bath bomb from LUSH is just what you need to de-stress.
Put Yourself First
Above all else, when it comes to managing your stress, make sure you’re prioritizing yourself and doing things that you enjoy.
